Biography

Donna is a senior lecturer in the School of Law at Aberdeen University. Her main teaching and research interests are domestic and international insolvency law and related fields and she also has an interest in countryside law.

Donna has been the Law Society of Scotland examiner in Commercial Law (2000 to 2008); Deputy Convener of Law Society of Scotland Exam Board (2004 to 2006); and Convenor (2006 to 2008) (external examining).

Donna is a qualified solicitor (non-practising); chaired the Scottish Executive's Working Group on Debt Relief from May 2004 to June 2005; and has provided technical consultancy services for the Scottish Executive in relation to the impact of the EC Regulation on insolvency proceedings and the bankruptcy aspects of the Bankruptcy and Diligence etc (Scotland) Act 2007.

Donna is a regular contributor to CPD events including Judicial Studies training events and is a regular contributor to academic and professional publications including The Laws of Scotland Stair Memorial Encyclopaedia: Corporate Insolvency (Re-issue) (2008); Insolvency Law in Scotland (T and T Clark Ltd, 1999); and Countryside Law in Scotland (co-edited with Jeremy Rowan-Robinson, T and T Clark Ltd, 2000) (contributed the following chapters: Introduction, Access: General Considerations; Area Access; and the Coastal Zone).
