Donald at the age of 16 was awarded the Outstanding Student Initiative Scholarship and President’s Welcome by the University of British Columbia where he completed his pre-law and thereafter gained entry to the University of Auckland’s limited entry law program and graduated with a double degree in law and arts. Donald practices as a senior lawyer and is one of few lawyers having achieved admission to all the High Courts of and having practiced in all three neighbouring jurisdictions of Australia, New Zealand and the Fiji Islands. He is also trust account certified by the Law Institute of Victoria. Notable matters of Donald from Australia, New Zealand and Fiji include: 1. Profiled as an Attorney by the United States Embassy- US Department of State. 2. Successfully acting for the university on interlocutory application in Kumaran v University of Southern Queensland [2011] FJHC 631. 3. Providing legal advice to a major New Zealand “big three” law firm. 4. Successfully settling the originating application leading to a remittal on judicial review in the Australian Federal Circuit Court in Dadheech v Minister of Immigration – MLG 2065/2013. 5. Successfully arguing and obtaining a remittal on merits review in the Australian Migration Review Tribunal in MRT1205859/VIC. Donald has attended on briefs and instructions from Queens Counsel, politicians, universities, major law firms, global insurers, state entities, foreign investors, and corporate household brands.
