Dan is a litigator practicing in Clydes' Toronto office. His practice focuses on commercial disputes, appellate advocacy, lawyer's professional negligence, and coverage litigation. He is Preferred Counsel to LawPro, which provides errors and omissions insurance for Ontario lawyers, and in this capacity frequently acts for other lawyers.
Dan has a specialty in limitations law. He is an author of the third edition of the leading Canadian limitations text, The Law of Limitations, the forthcoming Halsbury's Law of Canada (Limitation of Actions 2017 Reissue), and publishes Under the Limit, a blog on developments in Canadian limitations jurisprudence. He is often quoted in the media on limitations law and the courts regularly cite his texts and articles.
Dan also works with the outdoor recreational industry. He is counsel to the Ontario Access Coalition, an organisation that advocates on behalf of Ontario rock climbers. He has written on legal issues for Gripped, Canada's national climbing magazine, and contributed chapters to rock climbing and ice climbing guides.
