Biography

Colleen is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales, Scotland and South Africa, and holds an LLM in environmental law from the University of Aberdeen.

Since 1996 she has advised on environmental issues in complex property and corporate transactions, including public sector and MoD matters. Legal 500 and Chambers recognise Colleen as a leading environmental law practitioner. Previously an associate at Norton Rose, head of the environment team at Lawrence Graham and a partner at ASB Law, Colleen retains a role as consultant to law firms. She lectures at Birkbeck College, London and was an executive member of the UK Environmental Law Association (UKELA) for 7 years.

Colleen is also the founder and director of CLT Envirolaw, a niche sustainability consultancy providing specialist advice to companies and directors on sustainability issues. She is a member of the IS0 210 London committee, developing ISO 20121 (an international standard for sustainable events), and has expertise in developing and implementing sustainable events management systems under the framework of ISO 20121. Colleen serves on the steering group of Finance against Human Trafficking to help raise business awareness of human trafficking. She is also part of the newly formed steering group of the British Association for Sustainability in Sport (BASIS). Colleen has had an interest in CSR, corporate reporting and sustainability issues throughout her career and has been published extensively in this field.
