Catherine is a Senior Immigration Consultant & Manager at Platt & Associates and has over seven years’ experience practising immigration law in the United Kingdom. Her immigration practice includes assistance in business migration for investors, entrepreneurs and skilled migrants, student visa applications, family migration, European migration, human rights and asylum law, appeals against the refusal of applications and nationality law.
Catherine was a practising attorney in South Africa prior to relocating to the United Kingdom. She read her Bachelor of Business Science (BBusSci) degree and her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of Cape Town. She has also read her Master of Laws degree (LLM) in International Commercial Law at the University of Johannesburg during which time she also served as a Judge’s clerk in the Johannesburg High Court.
Catherine believes passionately that a good education in both academic, professional and vocational skills stands one in good stead to meet the challenges of a global, modern business environment. She is also passionate about the economic empowerment and inclusion of women in business and the broader society. Her special field of interest is women’s business development immigration options and she was awarded the UK Immigration Advisor of the Year Award 2013 following nominations from her clients. She is registered to Level 3 by the OISC and she is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). Catherine is also an active member of the ILPA
