Benn specialises in restructuring and Insolvency. He qualified as a solicitor in 2003, a Solicitor-Advocate in 2005 (all higher courts,
criminal and civil) and is qualified in the British Virgin Islands.

He has practiced predominately as an insolvency litigator, working for Nabarro LLP prior to joining LexisNexis.

Some of Benn’s significant cases include acting on for the liquidator of a feeder fund
to a well-known fraudulent “Ponzi scheme” in the US, acting for the liquidators of Swissair in successful cross-border and remittal
applications under the UNCITRAL model law (Swissair Schweizerische Luftverkehr-Aktiengesellschaft [2009] All ER (D) 153 (Aug)),
successfully acting for the petitioning creditor in the heavily disputed winding-up proceedings of GBI Investments Limited ( [2010]
All ER (D) 171 (Jun)). On the personal insolvency side, cases include Segal v Pasram [2007] All ER (D) 20 (Dec), Martin-Sklan v
White ([2006] All ER (D) 77 (Nov)) and acting for the trustee in bankruptcy of Michael Barrymore.

Benn is a full member of R3 (the Association of Business Recovery Professionals).
