Biography

Andrew Thompson specialises in all aspects of employment law, including contracts of employment, wrongful and unfair dismissal, equal opportunities, restrictive covenants, transfers of undertakings, business reorganisations (including handling mass redundancies), and EU law relating to employment matters.

In education law, he has extensive experience of advising and representing trustees and governors of schools, parents and local education authorities on a wide range of topics, in particular admissions to schools, transport policies, property matters affecting voluntary-aided schools, special educational needs, the powers of governors and employment matters affecting teachers.

He accepts direct access instructions.

Andrew Thompson is an Editor for Harvey on industrial Relations and Employment Law and a contributor to Halsbury's Laws of England Vol 47 (Trade and Labour) (4th ed). He is an Editor of the Education Law Manual (Tottel).
