In March 2009 Philip Wood was appointed by the Queen as QC honoris causa.

Philip joined Allen & Overy LLP as an articled clerk in 1967, was made a partner in 1974 and was head of the firm's Banking Department in the 1990s. With over 40 years' of experience in an international law firm, Philip works full-time as Special Global Counsel at Allen & Overy.
