Robert Gowing

Senior Associate, Hogan Lovells
Robert focuses on all aspects of town and country planning law and advises both private and public sector clients. He has extensive experience in complex urban redevelopment and national infrastructure projects, and has a particular focus on multifaceted developments in London. Robert provides strategic advice and support from the pre-application stage through to implementation, including environmental assessments, compulsory acquisition of land, and contentious planning matters, appeals and judicial review.
 
In addition to holding a degree in architecture, Robert completed professional conservation training and was the former Head of Wall Paintings and Senior Architectural Conservator at English Heritage (now Historic England).  
 
Robert’s unique and diverse background has allowed him to acquire particular heritage-related development experience, which has enabled him to provide targeted advice on the assessment of heritage impacts, including EIA reviews as part of wider landscape and townscape assessment issues.
