Request for further information — overviewRequests for further information (CPR Part 18)
A party served with a statement of case, on which it requires clarification or additional detail, can make a request for further information under the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR). The information should always be requested from the other side prior to making an application to the court for an order that the information/clarification be provided. There is no time limit for the voluntary provision of information, but it should be provided within a reasonable time.
The CPR sets out the procedure for making a request through an application to the court.
