Costs-only procedure — overviewCosts-only procedure
This procedure can be used where the parties have settled a dispute pre-issue and have determined who will pay the costs but have not agreed on the level of costs to be paid.
The court will either:

make an order for detailed assessment (the court will not decide the amount of costs), or
-
dismiss the claim (it must dismiss an opposed claim)
Costs-only proceedings broadly follow the procedure for CPR Part 8.
