1 Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent

(1)    These Regulations may be cited as the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 and shall come into force on 6th April 2011.

(2)    In these Regulations “the 2002 Regulations” mean the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) Regulations 2002.

(3)    These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

In regulation 4(b) of the 2002 Regulations (fees for criminal record certificates and enhanced criminal record certificates) for “£36” substitute “£44”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) Regulations 2002 by increasing the fee for an application made under section 113B of the Police Act 1997 for an enhanced criminal records certificate from £36 to £44 with effect from 6th April 2011. No fee is payable in relation to an application made by a volunteer under this section.
