This Order may be cited as the Licensed Conveyancers (Compensation for Inadequate Professional Services) Order 2009 and comes into force on 31st March 2009.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order)

This Order increases the maximum compensation that the Council for Licensed Conveyancers may direct a licensed conveyancer to pay his client for inadequate professional services from £5,000 to £15,000, by substituting that figure in the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 (c 41). It revokes the Licensed Conveyancers (Compensation for Inadequate Professional Services) Order 2000 which increased the maximum compensation from £1,000 to £5,000.
