This Order may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Overseas Territories) (Gibraltar) (Revocations) Order 2008, and comes into force on such day as the Governor of Gibraltar may appoint by proclamation published in the Gibraltar Gazette.
To be appointed: this Order shall come into force on such a date as the Governor of Gibraltar may appoint by proclamation published in the Gibraltar Gazette: see above.
The Orders set out in the Schedule which have been revoked in respect of their application to certain territories other than Gibraltar, are now also revoked in respect of their application to Gibraltar.

This Order revokes, in respect of their application to Gibraltar, the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 1989, the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 1991, the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) (No 2) Order 1991, the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 1992, the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 1995 and the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 1997. These Orders were all previously revoked by the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2001 (SI 2001/2128) except insofar as they applied to Gibraltar. This Order is necessary to avoid a conflict that would otherwise occur when civil aviation legislation in Gibraltar comes into force; that legislation will govern the aspects of civil aviation in Gibraltar currently covered by these Orders.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
