1 Citation and commencement

(1)    This order may be cited as the Velindre National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment (No 2) Order 2002 and shall come into force on 1st October 2002.

(2)    In this Order, “the principal Order” (“y prif Orchymyn”) means the Velindre National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993 as amended.

2 Amendment of article 3 of the principal Order

The principal Order shall be amended by the insertion after article 3(2) of the following—

“(d)    to manage and provide to or in relation to the health service in Wales a range of public health, health protection and health advisory services, child protection services, microbiological laboratory services and services relating to the surveillance, prevention and control of communicable diseases.”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Order)

This Order further amends the Velindre National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993 (the principal Order) so as to amend its functions and increase its number of executive directors.

The Order extends the functions of the trust to include the function of managing and providing a range of public health, health protection and advisory services, child protection services, microbiological laboratory services and services relating to the surveillance, prevention and control of communicable diseases.

The Order amends the principal Order by increasing the number of executive directors from 4 to 5.
