1 Title, commencement and extent

These Regulations may be cited as the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No 7) (Amendment) Regulations 2001; they extend to England and come into force at 6 pm on 11th May 2001.

At the end of Regulation 4(3)(b)(ii) of the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No 7) Regulations 2001, insert “or, in the case of meat from biungulates to which that Directive does not apply, the health mark provided for in Chapter III of Annex I to Council Directive 91/495/EEC (concerning public health and animal health problems affecting the production and placing on the market of rabbit meat and farmed game meat)”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend regulation 4(3)(b)(ii) of the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No 7) Regulations 2001 which permit the export of fresh meat obtained from cutting plants under certain conditions. The amendment specifies an alternative health mark that must be used in respect of certain biungulates.
