The Secretary of State hereby appoints 21st November 2000 as the appointed day for the purposes of paragraph 7(1) of Part III of Schedule 2 to the Broadcasting Act 1990.

This Order appoints a day for the purposes of paragraph 7(1) of Part III of Schedule 2 to the Broadcasting Act 1990. Under paragraph 7(1), before such appointed day, no person holding a licence to provide digital programme services could at any time provide digital programme services by means of two or more television multiplex services, if the number of points attributable to those digital programme services exceeded the permitted maximum. The effect of appointing a day for the purposes of paragraph 7(1) is that from that day, the prohibition in paragraph 7(1) will no longer apply.
