(1)    This Order may be cited as the Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Art and Design) (England) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 1st August 2000.

(2)    In this Order—

“The Document” means the Document published by the Stationery Office entitled “Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Art and Design”.

(3)    This Order applies only to pupils at:

(a)    any community, foundation or voluntary school; or

(b)    any community or foundation special school not established in a hospital,

in England.

The Education (National Curriculum) (Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Art) (England) Order 1998 is hereby revoked.

It is hereby directed that the provisions relating to attainment targets and programmes of study set out in the Document shall have effect for the purposes of specifying attainment targets and programmes of study in relation to Art and Design.

The examples [and other passages] printed in grey text within square brackets in the Document (which serve to illustrate the programmes of study described therein [or relate to background information]) do not form part of the provisions made by this Order.

This Order provides for the attainment targets and programmes of study set out in the document published by the Stationery Office entitled Attainment Targets and Programmes of Study in Art and Design (ISBN 011 3700768) to have effect for the purposes of specifying those elements of the National Curriculum in Art and Design in relation to schools in England.
