This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Oil Pollution) (Sovereign Base Areas) (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 23rd April 1998.

In the section 177(1) set out in the Schedule to the Merchant Shipping (Oil Pollution) (Sovereign Base Areas) Order 1997 the words “damage done to a ship” shall be replaced by the words “damage done by a ship”.
