Any BPTC students or barristers wanting to get some revision done, or brush up on their procedure in a pub setting are cordially invited to join us at a FREE PUB QUIZ on Monday the 26th March 2012, at the Penderel’s Oak, High Holborn. There will be four rounds of questions: Civil litigation and evidence; Criminal litigation and evidence; legal knowledge; and general knowledge.

How do experienced practitioners feel about those of us now studying for legal qualifications being able to simply open a laptop and watch top QC’s examining and cross-examining witnesses?
Televised and online legal proceedings enable students, and more importantly the general public, to engage with the system and hold opinions on issues that will inevitably affect them. Law students in particular have more opportunities now than ever before to see the procedure they learn about in action, and imbibe the skills of the best legal practitioners in the country.

This week I’m blogging about how lexis services can help you with mooting, after a request from a student. The start of a new academic year always fills us with big ideas of what we can take on in addition to work for ‘school’, and when the reality hits it usually collides with an assessment, or a time when you haven’t slept properly for a week! I hope this short guide will help to ease the pain, and make mooting what it is supposed to be-a truly enjoyable experience.
