Nitrate Pollution Prevention (Amendment) and Water Resources (Control of Pollution) (Silage, Slurry and Agricultural Fuel Oil) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 (subscription)
SI 2013/1001: The designation of nitrate vulnerable zones in England has been revised—the new designations will come into force from 1 January 2013. The closed period on spreading land materials containing a high proportion of readily available nitrogen will be extended from 2015. Several minor amendments to legislation will also come into force in order to reduce the paperwork for low intensity farmers from 17 May 2013.

Approved Settlement: The High Court has approved a lump sum plus annual payments from an NHS Trust to a child born with severe cerebral palsy. The Trust admitted full liability for a delay by medical staff to the baby’s delivery, resulting in oxygen starvation and consequent brain damage.

Offshore Combustion Installations (Pollution Prevention and Control) Regulations 2013 (subscription)
