After the Lisbon Treaty the European Union became a legal person. This means that the European Union will be able to sign international treaties. The last known one signed appear to be ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement). But signing is not ratifying and at the moment resistance is growing and member states have decided not to ratify the agreement.

Who is this person called the European Union? He/she seems to keep secrets about ACTA, because he/she don't want an open debate during negotiation. Even though I am person who is quite positive to this union I believe that transparancy and democracy is the only way to legitimize its existence. Maybe this status as a legal person is a bad idea.

Sure seems like it to me...
