This week I am promoting Halsbury's Laws of England, my absolute exam hero! So, I have decided to write my top 3 reasons why Halsbury's is great...

1) Halsbury's gives you a clear and concise overview of the topic you are revising. This is great because it gives you a base understanding and is set out in the structure you should be adopting in your own exams.

2) Legal definitions! You should be explaining your legal terminology (e.g. Grievous bodily harm is.....). It is so easy to find an authoritative legal definition on Halsbury's. All you need to do is search, for example, “defin! OR mean! w/s grievous bodily harm” in the commentary box, or go to Halsbury's directly via your bookshelf and you should get a nice little definition to add to your work. Perfect.

3) Halsbury's provides you with the most up to date authorities for explanations and definitions in the footnotes. To ensure you get those top marks you should follow the hyper link and read over the case or legislation to make sure that it applies to your particular facts!

My drop-in sessions have finished for the year now but I am still on-line. For any help using Halsbury's or Lexis in general drop me a message at hannah_noulton@hotmail.co.uk or message via the Facebook group and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Good Luck!
