The Court of Appeal, Civil Division, dismissed the father's appeal against a variation to a contact order with his child, holding that the judge had acted permissibly both in holding discussions with counsel as to the approach which they intended to take during the hearing and in considering the child's wishes as to contact in the context of considering the child's welfare.
