Medical practitioner - Professional misconduct - Sanction - Appellant physiotherapist engaged by rugby club - Appellant guilty of match cheating and suspended from practice in professional rugby - Competence and conduct committee of defendant Health Professions Council striking appellant off register following adverse finding regarding fitness to practise - Whether sanction appropriate.
Medical practitioner Professional misconduct. The Administrative Court, in quashing the decision of the respondent's professional conduct committee, found that the committee's decision to strike off the appellant had been legally inadequate, had failed to deal with the issues raised by the appellant and had not dealt adequately with the reason to strike him off rather than impose an alternative sanction.
