The Case

European Union Employment. The Court of Justice of the European Union gave a preliminary ruling concerning the interpretation of art8 and 9 of Council Directive (EC) 2000-78 (establishing a general framework for equal treatment in employment and occupation) in the course of proceedings where the claimant claimed compensation for the age discrimination in recruitment which she considered she had suffered.
