The Case

Sentence Imprisonment. The Court of Appeal, Criminal Division, refused the defendant's application for leave to appeal against his six-month sentence, it having been referred to the full court by the registrar as, having regard to the fact that the victim of the defendant's racially aggravated harassment was a police officer executing his duty as well as the local turbulence involving racist triggers in the area of the offence, namely, Bradford, the sentence was appropriate and there was nothing to impugn it.
