The Case

Sentence Mandatory life sentence. Queen's Bench Division: On an application under para3 of Sch22 to the a minimum term of 18 years, less 8 months and 23 days representing time which had been spent in custody on remand, was adjudged to be appropriate in a case where the offender had killed a defenceless woman in an alleyway; such offence having been planned or pre-meditated; and of which the victim had, prior to her death, suffered a certain degree of physical and mental suffering.
