Sentence - Custodial sentence - Extended sentence - Unlawful wounding - Affray - Whether sentence manifestly excessive.
An extended sentence of eight years was manifestly excessive in the case of a defendant who had pleaded guilty, inter alia, to unlawful wounding and affray.The appropriate total sentence was an extended sentence of six-and-a-half years, comprising three years' imprisonment and three years extension on licence.
