The Case
In the instant case, where the offender, had been convicted of murder in circumstances where he had stabbed his elderly friend and landlord to death in a ferocious attack, minimum term to be served before he could be considered for early release was 13 years' imprisonment, less the 10 months and 13 days he had spent in custody whilst on remand.
