The Case
Sentence Mandatory life sentence. The trial judge recommended a ten year minimum term of imprisonment for the murder of the deceased in circumstances where the offender had struck the deceased's head with the bicycle lock; however the offender's minimum term was set at eight years taking into account the mitigating circumstances.
