The Case
Where the offender had been convicted of murder, following the repeated stabbing of his ex-partner in the home they had shared together, the appropriate minimum term to be served before he could be considered for early release, having had regard to the recommendations that were in place at the time of the offence, and the period he had spent in custody on remand, was 11 years and 5 months' imprisonment.
