Sentence - Mandatory life sentence - Murder - Minimum term - Reference by Secretary of State to set minimum term - , Sch 22, para 6.
The Case
Having considered the fact that the aggravating features of the case far outweighed the mitigation due to the offender on account of his comparative youth and his mental state, the minimum term was increased from 14 years to 15 years, reduced by the period of nine months and 19 days that the offender had spent in custody on remand.
