The Case
In the circumstances of the case, where the offender and co-accused murdered the co-accused's father pursuant to the co-accused's plan to kill his father so as to inherit part of his estate, the appropriate minimum period which the offender had to serve before the early release provisions were to apply to him was 14 years.
