The Case
On the evidence, the claimant and the second Pt20 defendant, both of whom were veterinary surgeons, had been in breach of duty in respect of injections of cortico-steroids given to the defendant's dressage horse which resulted in the horse's death. The defendant was awarded damages of 350,000 to be split between the second Pt20 defendant and the claimant, respectively, on an 85:15 basis.
