Sentencing - Making indecent photographs of a child - Custodial sentence - Duration of sentence manifestly excessive.
A sentence of 12months' imprisonment was manifestly excessive there the 53-year-old defendant had pleaded guilty at a late stage to one count of making indecent images of a child, in respect of the finding of 2,482 indecent images of children on his computer equipment, the vast proportion of which images had been in level1 identified by the relevant sentencing guidelines, but 12 other images had fallen variously within levels2 to 5. The appropriate sentence was one of six months' imprisonment.
