The Case
The defendant pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was fined 1,000, ordered to pay 1,500 compensation, and prosecution costs in the sum of 578. The Court of Appeal held that the financial orders were not excessive in the circumstances.
