The Case
The general tenor of the established case authorities was in favour of disclosure to the public of materials which, in proceedings in open court, had entered into the public domain. The reference to documents which had been read in open court had to be regarded as including the pleadings and witness statements, which had been confirmed in general terms by their makers and stood as evidence in chief.
