The Case
In the circumstances of the case, where the defendant, who was both drunk and uninsured, had driven at speeds well in excess of the speed limit for a prolonged spell whilst being pursued by a police car, the total sentence of ten months' imprisonment for offences of dangerous driving, driving with excess alcohol and for breach of a conditional discharge was entirely right.
