The Case
Insurance Reinsurance. Queen's Bench Division, Commercial Court: The court made findings of fraud and conspiracy in very substantial litigation arising out of the part of the reinsurance market which, in the 1990s, traded in the losses generated by US Workers' Compensation insurance (WC insurance) and related products; in particular, that referred to as 'arbitrage' or 'net underwriting'.
