The Case
In the circumstances of the instance case, the defendant's extended sentence of seven years' duration for an offence of attempted rape comprising four years' imprisonment followed by an extended period of licence of three years would be reduced to six years' duration comprising three years' imprisonment followed by an extended period of licence of three years.
