The Case
The judge had erred in imposing sentences of nine months' imprisonment on each of two counts of obtaining property by deception to which the defendant had pleaded guilty. The sentences would be reduced to three months' imprisonment to be served concurrently with each other but consecutively to a sentence of 12 months' imprisonment for a count of theft.
