The Case
A sentence of 30 months' imprisonment imposed upon a defendant who pleaded guilty to an offence of indecent assault on a female was reduced on appeal to one of 18 months' imprisonment to reflect the fact that the offence had not been pre-planned and was, as such, an isolated incident.
