Malcolm Chapple

Biography

Malcolm is a "senior junior with a wealth of experience" (Chambers Bar UK) who has a wide-ranging chancery and commercial practice. He is a very experienced litigator in his specialist fields of Intellectual Property, Telecommunications, and Business Disputes, particularly those disputes with a technical subject matter. He is "approachable and client friendly" and "wins plaudit for his client friendly approach" (Legal 500).

He appears regularly in the Chancery Division (including the IPEC), in the UKIPO Trade Mark Tribunal and on appeal before the Appointed Person. He has also acted for parties in Community registered trade mark disputes before both the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

Malcolm also assists clients in litigation concerning day to day business disputes, with the myriad of ways in which such disputes can arise – including unfair prejudice actions.

For all this work he has the benefit of having worked in the industrial and commercial world whilst completing an engineering apprenticeship at Heathrow Airport with British Airways and thereafter as a Development Engineer with BA.
