Biography

Stuart joined PBA in 2000, returning from working in Hong Kong as a project engineer on large scale slope stabilization projects, tunneling and rock blasting projects. In the past 14 years he has worked as a project and contracts manager in the field of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering associated with contaminated land investigation/remediation and geotechnical design, gained working in numerous locations around mainland UK.  This experience has also extended into renewable energies, working on secondment to RWE Npower Renewables in a project management role as Land Transactions Manager on a major offshore wind farm project.

His work within the field of contaminated land led to the development of wide ranging experience with asbestos containing materials, not just within buildings, qualifying as a certified asbestos surveyor in 2003, but also in the assessment, remediation and management of asbestos with soils.

In 2011 Stuart became involved with CIRIA in the production of their new guidance document, Asbestos in soils and made ground: a guide to understanding the risk, which was being part funded by PBA, joining and playing an active part in the project steering group.
