Danielle Carr

A dual qualified lawyer (England & Wales and Australia), Danielle has over 15 years’ experience acting for clients in complex (mainly cross-border) disputes including in the TMT, energy, oil and gas, banking and professional services sectors. Danielle’s experience includes working with international firm Herbert Smith Freehills in the UK, Middle East and Australia.

Danielle’s commercial litigation, international arbitration and ADR practice focuses on high-value disputes involving insolvency, fraud, media, IP, contract, corporate and regulatory issues, shareholder disputes, professional negligence claims and class actions. She recently acted for an international construction company in a London seated arbitration against a state respondent in a multi-billion dollar claim; and for the administrators of 19 European companies in connection with a $7b dispute. Much of her work is in emerging areas, including disputes involving cryptocurrencies, technology, energy and biofuels. She has particular expertise obtaining urgent injunctive relief and freezing orders in the English courts. 

A Recommended Lawyer and described as ‘very reassuring’ in the Legal 500 (2019) UK, Danielle regularly speaks at global legal conferences, appeared as a legal expert on BBC Radio 4 and was on the Judging Panel for the Modern Law Awards 2017/18. An area of particular interest, Danielle also speaks on, and moderates, panels on the legal and commercial implications arising from Brexit.

Danielle delivered dispute resolution courses for ISDE’s 2017 Masters in International Business Law, Contracting and International Relations.
