Julie Burton Partner

Biography

Julie has been a partner in the private client team since joining Penningtons in 2003 and has practised in the area of private client, tax and estate planning, trusts and probate since qualifying in 1982.

In more recent years Julie has developed an extensive experience in the area of Court of Protection work, acting as a Deputy, in many cases where the client has severe brain injury. Her work includes the creation of trusts for the protection of personal injury awards and acts as a trustee in many such cases.

Julie also advises on Wills where there is a disabled beneficiary and is a current editor of Butterworths Wills and Probate Administration Service section on Wills for the disabled beneficiary. She also advises on care funding issues and matters relating to the elderly. She is a panel solicitor for MENCAP and regularly gives presentations to groups affiliated to MENCAP, Age Concern and Alzheimers Society. Julie is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
