Carolyn is a partner and co-founder of William Grace, a new law firm specialising in Commercial, Technology and Dispute Resolution matters. She was previously a partner at Swan Turton LLP and prior to that spent fourteen years at leading international technology firm, Bird & Bird.

Carolyn boasts considerable experience and expertise in providing commercial legal advice on IT, technology, digital media and telecoms matters, both in the UK and internationally. She has particular experience in technology, software and app licensing and development arrangements, data exploitation and analytics, cloud based solutions, e-commerce contracts and complex IT and network agreements, including managed service transactions and IT and BPO outsourcings.

Carolyn also provides advice in connection with a broad spectrum of commercial law across a number of industry sectors including in connection with a wide variety of customer and supplier relationships, such as distribution, agency and reseller arrangements, and consumer law matters.

Carolyn’s expertise has been further reflected in various articles and speaking engagements and she has undertaken a number of training sessions for her clients on the practical application of the law and the legal risks associated with new technologies. She is a contributing author to the TMT and Commercial sections of Lexis®PSL and she spent a number of years as joint editor of the E-commerce Chapter of the Encylopedia of IT Law (Sweet & Maxwell).

Carolyn is a member of the Society for Computers and Law and Women in Telecoms and Technology.
