Barry Smith, MCIArb

Following pupillage at Carmelite Chambers, Barry joined Artesian Law. He was seconded to the SFO to advise on the LIBOR investigations, and later joined Furnival Chambers specialising in fraud. As in-house counsel at Aliant Law he currently advises and represents at all stages of civil, criminal and regulatory litigation as sole, led and leading junior. He has appeared in a number of reported Court of Appeal decisions and important private prosecutions. Previous appointments include to the Independent Monitoring Board of HMP Belmarsh, clerk to the Bar Disciplinary Tribunal, and as a trustee of a major domestic violence charity. Barry is a qualified mediator.
