Paul Stothard

Paul is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 17 years experience in the legal sector. Most of this time has been as Chief Executive, initially with Townsends (now part of Thrings), then Shoosmiths and currently Tees Law. He has also worked as a consultant in the sector with Alan Hodgart/Huron and is an accredited management coach (Henley). In both Shoosmiths and Tees Law, Paul has led major strategic reviews and then managed the successful implementation of the output from those reviews. For Shoosmiths, their move from regional to national law firm was a direct output of that work, whilst at Tees Law this regional practice finds itself at the vanguard of change as, under his direction, they have become one of the first law firms to move to a corporate entity. Paul is a Partner in Pathways Management LLP, a business providing management services to the legal sector. He, and fellow Partner Judith Dorkins, use their combined experience of law firm management to help firms across the sector to deliver business improvement whether through people development, strategic and structural change, risk management or brand service and process enhancement. Paul has previously been the Chairman of the CBI in the Eastern Region and Chairman of the Peterborough Diocese Board of Finance. At present he is a Trustee and volunteer rider for SERV OBN, a registered charity providing out of hours rapid response medical transport services to the NHS. Paul is varyingly described as having "an innate ability to develop and manage high-performing teams", "a strategic visionary", and "a manager who is quick to see the challenges for business and to devise solutions
